Will Full Tilt Poker Pay Back the One Million?
- 12/01/2011By Tommie ClarkGoogle
People are holding their breaths to see what happens next in the drama with Full Tilt Poker. The US Department of Justice is attempting to recover one billion dollars from the poker site for the damages caused by violating the gambling laws of the United States. The French investment company, Group Bernard Tapie, is hoping to salvage a deal with Full Tilt Poker in order to save the site.
Bankruptcy can be a tricky subject and GBT will have to sit back until there is a resolution with the Department of Justice. That is not the only thing to be concerned with, but any deal will be dependent on the return of the money to Full Tilt’s customers. This will amount to about three hundred million dollars.
People are watching to see if Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker will pay back what they owe before Full Tilt does. There is hope being raised by the Kahwanake Gaming Commission that this will happen. Nothing much has been heard from the sites since their shut down on Black Friday. A recent press release states that Blanca Games, who owns the two sites, is reportedly selling assets to start paying its customers back.
The gaming commission has been involved in discussions with the sites and a resolution was looking more possible. The primary goal of the Kahwanake Gaming Commission is that the online players will receive their money back as quickly as possible. Everyone will have to sit back and watch to see if that happens.
