Unibet Signs Key Danish Football Sponsorships

Unibet, the Swedish online casino and sports betting site, has just signed a three year sponsorship contract with F.C. København (The Copenhagen Football Club, FCK) and F.C. Midtjylland (FCM).  Unibet will now be these two club’s exclusive betting partner.  Fans of the clubs can expect to see increased media as a result of the new deal.

This new sponsorship deal between the top online casino site and these football clubs comes as a result of the recent liberalization of the Danish gaming market.  Anders Hørsholt, the CEO of the FCK, explained that since the FCK is Scandinavia’s best team and competes regularly in European competitions, it is only natural that Unibet sought us out as a partner.  He added that they were approached by other bookie websites, but that Unibet made the most attractive offer.  Hørsholt said that Unibet has displayed a great interest in activating this new sponsorship towards FCK fans during and between game days.  He concluded that the sponsorship will surely benefit F.C. København, FCK fans, and Unibet.

Kim Olesen, the General Manager for Unibet Denmark, said that Unibet is delighted about the new partnership with two of the best and most ambitious clubs in Denmark.  She compared the ambitions of these two clubs to being number one to Unibet’s ambitions to being the number one gaming operator.  Olesen continued that this new partnership will help Unibet secure their leading position in the Danish market.

Jens Ørgaard, the sports director at FCM, said that FCM and well-known operator Unibet share a desire to challenge the status quo.  He added that Unibet understands FCM’s potential and that they look forward to working together.
