Lottery, Bingo & Keno – A long lasting war

The three most popular numbers games are the lottery, bingo games a nd of course the speciality gaming option – Keno.
Lotteries are straight forward and are now often connected with multiple lottery associations. This beefs up the prize pools and gives the winners 5, 6 and sometimes 7 figure jackpot pay-outs.

Bingo is slightly different so far as the prize money is concerned. The game has not been known for paying out sums paid out by lottery wins, but there are still a few Bingo games out there that pay out substantial amounts of cash. A few progressive bingo games with other jackpot prizes attached have become extremely popular and build up huge prize pools.

Keno of course is the most mysterious of the 3. It has the same concept as lottery and Bingo because players are still trying to hit the numbers. Except, Keno affords players the flexibility to choose the odds they want to play.

When you play the Keno system, you get to bet between 1 and 15 numbers out of 80 numbers on the board. Once you have confirmed your bet, 20 balls are spat out over the Keno board.

Each number has a 4-1 chance of a ball hitting it. However, Keno odds are not as straight forward as paying 4-1 per ball. The pay-out odds are decided on how many numbers the player has wagered. For example, the player chooses only 10 numbers to bet rather than the full 15 number option available.

What is the difference between 1 ball and 15 balls wagered?

If you bet just 1 ball, your pay-back odds will be low. Bet 6 balls and the odds will improve and be more spread out. The more balls you bet the better your odds become.
Example of odds:

·         Bet 1 Ball

3-1 Payback odds if 1 of the 20 balls fired lands on your single bet

·         Bet 6 Balls

1 ball – 1/1 pay back odds
2 balls – 2-1
3 balls – 4-1
4 balls – 18-1
5 balls – 16-1
6 balls – 32-1

This is just an oversimplified version of the Keno system, but it also goes to show why the game has become so popular. Players are able to apply strategy to the way they play, and they have some control on the kind of odds they would like to wager.

On the other hand, the lottery games and bingo games don’t have the same kind of flexibility when it comes to betting options and odds.

Keno doesn’t often come with a casino bonus code per say, but there are plenty of casino bonuses offered by casinos that are generic and as such Keno is great game to test out if you are just joining up as a new member.
