Casino Shooting Near Seattle

Auburn police report that a lone gunman entered the Muckleshoot Casino this Sunday and fired his gun on his wife, her companion, and seven other innocent bystanders.  As of the early hours of Monday morning, Seattle Hospital reported that the wife and two of the bystanders were in critical condition.  Four other victims are in stable condition in Renton’s Valley Hospital. 

Mike Hirman, the Auburn Police commander, said that after sufficing to injure nine persons, casino security personal pounced on him, and an off-duty policeman from Auburn proceeded to take him into custody.

The police handed the suspect over to the detectives who further investigated his motives.  The police did not identify the suspect immediately.

Auburn Police Commander Hirman said that "We know they were estranged and we know he went up there and fired rounds into his wife and into his wife's companion."  Hirman went on to say that the suspect was detained at King County Jail and spoke to detectives there.  Since the details of the conversations are part of an ongoing investigation, they are still being withheld from release to the press until further notice. 

The current charge is that the suspect entered the Club Galaxy lounge at the Muckleshoot Casino with intent to open fire on his wife and her partner.

The wife had two sisters present at the Casino lounge and they too were among the injured.  It is not clear yet if the suspect in question intended to maim the sisters too.

The police commander also said that the initial court hearing will likely be held this coming Monday.
