William Hill and the Football Association Join Forces

William Hill, the world’s largest online sports betting site, and the English Football Association (FA) have signed a 2½ year sponsorship contract. This is the first sponsorship contract ever signed between the FA and a major betting firm. As a result of the deal, William Hill will be able to use the English Team and FA Cup logos, brands, symbols, and all other trademarked goods for advertising purposes. William Hill also has an online casino department operating online casino games, poker, bingo, and video slots.
FA’s head of sponsorship Peter Daire told reporters that the FA is happy to go into contract with William Hill because the betting firm has a very good reputation in sponsorships, as well as a considerable advertising presence that will aid the FA as well. William Hill, on its part, benefits from sponsorship with two of the best football brands in the world. Ralph Topping, the CEO at William Hill, added that his firm has been looking for such symbiotic sponsorships that will engage their customers. Topping also mentioned that William Hill already has a similar agreement with the Scottish Football Association and the Scottish Cup that have already proven quite beneficial to both parties. Topping concluded that the next two and a half years will be particularly exciting for William Hill and that he is looking forward to every moment.
Kristof Fahy, William Hill’s CMO, added that this specific partnership will help the firm develop brand prominence and increase its market share. Fahy also added that this partnership, in addition to the direct benefits for sports betting, will have indirect benefits for their top online casinos and draw customers to their games, poker, bingo, and more.
