Video Poker and Hi/lo Games Join Forces

New casino games just keep coming out in force with new variations and combined specialities giving punters even more than they ever bargained for.

Today’s internet designers have outdone their brick and mortar counterparts by not only taking their designs and making them better online, they have also brought out some of the newest styles of play that the live casinos can’t even dream of matching profitably. Now, the online virtual world of casinos is a place of new innovative gaming on the gambling scene where punters are spoilt for choice, and so, let the cyber journey continue with a game of Hi/Lo that mixes in Five Card Draw from the poker slots and a gamble on the suited cards bringing punters yet another new addition to the virtual casinos to take a punt at.

Hi/Lo is one of the old time greats that has been around since gambling began. When the French introduced the fifty-two deck of cards with four suits, the historical game of hi/lo then made its way over to the card scene where it also joined poker and a one on four chance of guessing the suit of the next card out of the deck. Now games such as Card Shark or High-Low Game Show mix all this up giving punters a unique punt at the numbers, cards and suits.

First of all, players can wager on the next card being higher or lower with the Ace as a low cad and the King as the highest card. Players get four guesses with each correct guess improving their returns on the original bet if they win. Once all five cards are out from the hi/lo game if you make a poker hand of at least a pair, then the winnings from the hi/lo gamble can be multiplied by anything up to 30 times.

Secondly, if you want bet on the next suit that comes out instead of hi/lo, you can do this at any time in the game. Suit bets give players improved odds on their stakes helping to build up their bank roll twice as quick as they would on a hi/lo punt. This adds an interesting mix to the game as if a player is dealt a seven card, betting higher or lower doesn’t offer favourable percentages, so players can tactically switch to betting suits for a quadruple pay-out at almost the same risk.

The game is easy to stake, and each time the player wins their original stake progressively builds up to a higher pay out each time until the final five card hand is produced. The better the five card hand, the higher the multiplier applied.

What’s even better about these games is that they swing slightly in the punters favour. Thanks to one rule that states if there is a tie on the hi/lo draw, the player is not penalised. This means the player neither wins, or loses and in fact gains two advantages. Firstly, the card is already showing, so one guess has been eliminated moving players closer to their eventual five card hand bonus. Secondly, a tie means players will have paired the poker board, so once they reach a five card hand there is a guaranteed multiplier waiting.

Another great part of this game is that you can bank your money at any stage of the betting and continue from the same point, but this would obviously be with a lower stake than the progressive stake created through previous correct guesses.

Indeed, this game is the true gamblers gambling game with two ways to bet on the cards, an extend opportunity to multiple your winnings with a game of Five Card Stud or Five Card Draw wrapped up inside, and it is loads of fun to play.
