The Worst Leaks in Poker and Casino Table Games - Part 2

Some after thoughts came to me, and one of the biggest problems that occurred to me was something I have seen so many times in the casinos and at the poker tables. A leak that destroys people’s will to play, and eats away at their bankrolls. It is the inability to know when enough is enough.

It is true that gambling is about variation and probability. Those that enjoy a flutter and understand this concept are usually people that have been around the casinos, land based or online, for quite some time. That doesn’t make them perfect gambler though.

There are those that will understand exactly how odds and probability work, and those that will use it as an excuse to continue gambling. Let’s take a look at a couple of scenarios.

Scenario 1

A player is losing badly at Blackjack. Nothing seems to be going his way, and he is sure the odds will swing in his favour soon. He goes to the ATM or the virtual cashier and make a withdrawal. He goes over the limit he set himself for his visit. He is now frustrated and continues to lose. He starts to get tired, stressed and thus begins to take unnecessary risks. It’s back to the virtual cashier or ATM and in the end he loses his entire bankroll and cannot play until the next payday.

Scenario 2

The player from scenario 1 has a friend also on the Blackjack table. She is not having a good day at the tables either. She is fed up and so decides that enough is enough and quits for the day. The next day she still has money left in her bankroll to continue. She understands that variation may be swinging out of her favour. However, she is not as frustrated as she was the day before and starts to make better decisions. She comes out even on this occasion, but she also realised she is in a better mood.

The next day player 2 goes back to the casino and makes a killing. Variation had some part to do with it, but also her decision to leave when she was on a bad streak meant she was able to come back yesterday and play through her variation in the right frame of mind. The ultimate difference is she knows when to quit.

A Final Word

Not knowing when to quit is a huge leak in casino goer’s games. Even if the money is free from a no deposit casino bonus, you can still quit and come back to make that money back. Check out www.nodepositcasino.com and sign up to a casino offering a no deposit bonus. You can test out the theory if you start to lose. Quit and come back and see if you make better decisions.
