For all those poker lovers out there the World Series of Poker is back in town with some juicy events giving away million dollar prizes.

The event will be running all month long and has already given the poker world its first millionaire winner. One of the tournaments on show w as the $1,500 buy-in Millionaire Maker. It was the sixth event of the WSOP out of 62 tournaments that are going to take place over the course of the month with the Main Event always the highlight of the show. The largest pay-out for a WSOP main event was in 2006 when Jamie Gold won an amazing $12 million, and the largest pay-out for first place in a WSOP tournament was over $18 million when Antonio Esfandiari won the Big One for One Drop charity event that raised $5 million for charity.

With all this, having the first millionaire WSOP bracelet winner early on in this year’s WSOP adds to the excitement.

Benny Chen from Canada was the man to take the honours after he won the Millionaire Maker No Limit Texas Hold’em event that guaranteed the winner $1 million no matter what. 6,343 players with $1,500 each bough in to pull together a tournament prizepool of $8,563,050. That cash figure was divided up to pay out the top 648 place. 577th to 648th walked away with $2,740, which was more than their buy-in money back. In the end though, it was Benny Chen who took the lion’s share of the prizepool to the tune of $1,199,104 and a WSOP bracelet.

Along with the Texas Hold’em No Limit play there are also a host of other tournaments being played out. Pot Limit Omaha is one very popular game as well as Stud poker. If players can’t decide on which style they would rather play, then there are eight-game and ten-game mixed tournaments. Here players play a mixture of styles including Hold’em, Omaha, Stud, 5 Card Draw and more. The styles range between No Limit, Pot Limit and Fixed Limit play, and the hand rules are mixed between the Ace being a high card or low card depending on the style played as well as also depending on the low ball rules being played.

Low ball poker is basically a version of poker where you try to win with the worst hand. That being said that would mean the worst hand if you were playing standard poker because in low ball rules the lowest hand is the best hand. In 2-7 Triple 5-Card Draw the best hand is 2-3-4-5-7, and in 7-Card Razz the best hand is A-2-3-4-5, which isn’t a straight, just the lowest possible hand you can get because straights don’t count in 7-Card Razz.

Since the WSOP hit Las Vegas the online casino poker tables have rammed full with plenty of players taking advantage of casino bonus codes to get their free money on the poker tables and in the 5-Card Draw Video poker slots.
