PokerStars is by far the largest online poker network on the planet. The company also manages a host of live poker events in conjunction with the European Poker Tour and has a series of Pokerstars L IVE cash game tables in conjunction with various casinos in Europe and Asia. If Amaya can grab this deal, it will be one of the biggest moves in the history of online gaming.

Microgaming’s partnership with Play Boy to bring Play Boy girls to the live dealer tables was said to be one of the best marketing deals made by any of the software designing companies within the online gambling designer industry, but Amaya’s deal with PokerStars would by far over shadow that move.

The exposure Amaya Gaming will gain is almost dreamlike marketing. PokerStars has a huge reach into the online gaming market, and so does Amaya Gaming. As far as online gambling on the casino scene is concerned, PokerStars does not dabble in this side of industry so much apart from its sister site Full Tilt Poker, owned by The Rationale Group also, that has recently moved into the casino market.

Amaya Gaming will be able to push its marketing of casino, poker, land-based machines and sports books via the huge exposure the business will gain via PokerStars.
Blackstone’s is said to be one of the main backers for the deal via its partners GSO Capital Partners. Should the deal go through, they will buy $675 million worth of securities and preferred shares. Another $2.9 billion dollars is said to be coming via Barclays, Macquarie Capital, Deutsche Bank and a host of other credit facilities all of which have seen the potential of this massive deal.

It is a deal that involves software design firms experience in the industry and financers looking to cash in on what is going to be a huge deal. Last year PokerStars claimed revenues of $1.1 billion with earnings rated at around $420 million.

One of the biggest problems for PokerStars has been its re-entrance into the US market since the government cracked down on all online gambling. However, Amaya already have a strong foothold in the market and this could then see PokerStars remerge as a powerful force of poker within the US adding to its current world dominance in all other continents.
