Paddy Power Steps Foot in North America

Ireland’s largest sports betting provider, Paddy Power, has recently signed a three year contract with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) which is its first ever deal in North America.  Beginning in 2012, the Irish firm will provide services related to risk management, business services, and online software services to the betting arm of the BCLC.  Paddy Power’s CEO Patrick Kennedy expressed his excitement at the beginning of their North American operations.  The company sees specific importance in the strategic potential of North American operations and is working to increase their business in the region.  Their goal is to endorse their products with other local firms as well as engaging other forms of partnerships, such as USA online casinos.

Thanks to the new spirit of regulation and the creation of legal frameworks that allow gambling all around the world, Paddy Power has found itself in an advantageous position to provide services that are in increasing demand.  Casino reviews are expecting continued growth in expanding international markets for the Irish firm.

Rhonda Garvey of BCLC also expressed her excitement about the new partnership.  She said that the corporation believes the new partnership is very important to the development and operation of their online betting site PlayNow.com.  Paddy Power’s systems were the perfect fit, said Garvey.  She concluded that their software provides a unique, quality experience.

According to the law in British Columbia, BCLC is the only body authorized to run an online betting site.  By association Paddy Power is in a very good position because there is no real competition.  It has been reported that they applied for a Nevada gaming license as well in order to further expand their hold in the region.  Paddy Power expressed interest in partnerships with a top USA online casino.
