Nevada Chooses Independent Testing of Casino Games

This week, the Nevada Gaming Control Board announced that the State Gaming Control Board Technology Division will no longer handle the pre-approval testing of online casino games, gaming devices, associated equipment, cashless wagering systems, mobile gaming systems, and interactive gaming systems.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board issued a statement that said that beginning on July 1st, 2012, the pre-approval testing service of games utilized by the best online casinos is to be completed by independent testing laboratories that have met the registration requirements of the State Gaming Control Board.

The Gaming Control Board Technology Division Lab will finish reviewing products still in their possession and will complete the task by the end of June 2012.

The Nevada Gaming Commission and State Gaming Control Board will still be responsible for the approval of air gambling games, gaming devices, associated equipment, cashless wagering systems, mobile gaming systems, and interactive gaming systems operated within Nevada.  

The State Gaming Control Board issued a statement, which read, “Once an independent testing laboratory has been registered, manufacturers may begin utilizing their service of pre-approval testing and certification for products to be submitted to the Nevada Gaming Control Board for approval.”

The statement went on, “Manufacturers will be able to use the independent testing laboratory of their choosing and will not be restricted to the use of a single independent testing laboratory.”

A current review of online casino games legislation is taking place in Nevada and many top rated online casino brands are looking to receive licenses within the state.
