Borgata Fake Chips Resolution

It is true that wherever there is money, there will always be a cheat trying to extort the easy money for personal gain, and it is casinos that are the easiest target in terms of trickery without leaving a traceable paper trail that will get you caught.

Recently the Borgata, also known for its online entity, has been in the middle of a scandal that revolves around the use of fake casino chips.

It was first reported by nj.com that there were rumors of cheating at the 2014 Borgata Winter Open in January. A player has been officially arrested and charged with rigging. The man has been named as Christian Lusardi, who was tracked down and eventually arrested for the rigging scandal.

Lusardi was using fake Borgata chips to rig a public contest, which in the state of New Jersey is illegal, and tantamount to theft.

The revelations have meant that Borgata have had to revamp their chip security system by making a huge investment on new technology and a set of new chips to be introduced into the casino. It now means that all the chips now have a validation system that uses ultraviolet light to confirm the chips being used are from the Borgata.

Some have said that the investment was a little extreme, but these comments have been defended by the senior vice president of the Borgata casino in New Jersey – Joe Lupo.

He has said that the move to introduce the new technology is to protect the casino against the outrage caused by the scandal. This is absolutely true too; at least from a customer’s point of view. If a casino has a flaw or leak in its security, it can’t be seen to be taking no action. It is all very well pressing charges against the violators, but action is also necessary to assure visitors that the same incident will not happen again.

All this is a result of a casino that cares about its customer service. Lusardi obviously saw a hole in the security in the casino and was able to smuggle his own version of the Borgata chips into the casino. That is something the casino want the public to know will not happen again.

On top of the new technology being used to ensure there are no more similar incidents, the security at the casino has been buffed up by introducing more manpower on the casino floor in order to show that the casino is serious about catching cheats. This will also mean that there will be additional resources to take more regular chip counts during publicly contested tournaments such as poker.

New Jersey’s Borgata casino has also got an online version of its casino shared with BWIN’s Partypoker offering no deposit bonus codes to play their casino, so if you are looking for free chips to play with, don’t sneak them into the casino, and just play online instead. All the Borgata online services are limited to only online play to residents or visitors within the state borders of New Jersey.
