2014 is here and still Windows 8 Mobile Platforms

HTC and Nokia are the leaders in the Windows 8 gaming market yet the amicable deal between software developer and the poker companies has still meant many Windows 8 poker players are going to have to face the fact that it could still be a very long time before we see poker on Windows 8 devices.

To be quite honest it is the poker sites that are losing out the most because there are so many people out there that simply say “I can’t play online poker because my phone doesn’t allow it”. Let’s be honest, most people who have made the investment to buy a Windows 8 phone are not going to all of a sudden buy Apple or an Android device just so they can play online poker. They have already made the investment in a phone that syncs quite nicely with all their applications on their home Windows 8 computers and so they would rather so without poker than swap.

The first online poker room to introduce online gaming for mobile Windows 8 telephones is surely going to get the chance to capture a huge portion of the market. With Windows 8 growing popularity it only seem inevitable someone is going to make the move.

Looking at it from another angle it is also surprising the telephone companies aren’t pushing for Windows to strike a deal with a poker company to get the software designed for the Windows 8 mobile telephone market.

Even more surprising that someone like Apple haven’t gone for an exclusive deal with one of the poker companies such as PokerStars to block Windows 8 from even issuing the poker companies software. I mean there seems to be nothing the evil Apple bigwigs won’t try and patent or take away from the public and rendering an idea unavailable to those who can’t afford the overpriced Apple goods.

I am not an Apple hater as such, but I am a big believer in allowing the world to share innovation and so rather than hate Apple, I join a great many others in abolishing anything Apple from my household and ensuing they receive the negative word of mouth they deserve for being contradictory in the way they promote innovation and sharing for everyone, yet it is not for everyone is it! Anyway let’s not go too far off the point.

HTC and Nokia must see that their Windows 8 side of the market must be losing out on at least some sales because there are so many poker players that will simply steer clear of Windows 8 phones simply because they know they cannot play poker on the Windows 8 mobile phone version of the OS.

One day we may see it happened, but right now anyone using a Windows 8 mobile phone is still sitting there twiddling his or her thumbs wondering if the day will ever come. If it is too long, then when it is time to buy a new phone or the upgrade on their contract arrives, Windows 8 mobile phone sellers will see a steady decrease in sales.
